Kuchipudi
Kuchipudi ,one of the seven classical dance styles of India , takes its name from the village of its origin, Kuchipudi, in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.
Kuchipudi as a style is known for its verve and vivacity .Movements are rounded and fleet-footed, performed with grace and fluidity.
Performed to South Indian classical music; Kuchipudi shares many common elements with Bharatanatyam, yet it is distinct for its quicksilver precision and detailed expressive technique and specially created pieces such as Tarangam, Simhanandini etc., which are unique to Kuchipudi.
Kuchipudi today has many practioners across the globe, who continue to stretch its repertoire in both solo and ensemble works.
